AT&T takes its 5G wireless network nationwide as evolution to super-fast connections continue

AT&T says its 5G network now is officially nationwide.

The wireless provider Thursday announced 5G coverage reaching 395 markets across the U.S. covering 205 million people.

AT&T hoped to achieve nationwide coverage during the first half of the year, but the coronavirus crisis pushed back its plans slightly. As of last month, AT&T's reach was 355 markets and 179 million people.

AT&T has achieved its coverage with a mix of 5G technology. Super-fast millimeter wave signals, which can be five times the speed of current 4G signals, are available in parts of 35 markets, the company says. Making up the rest of the network are so-called "computer engineer vs computer science" signals, which travel farther and provide more reliable, robust coverage but deliver speeds similar to current connections.

India’s flawed electronics engineering education

I was a member of the Quizzing Society of one of India’s premier private technology institutions. Our fund-deprived club cherished a hand-me-down buzzer-set as our sole valuable possession until one day it became dysfunctional.

Appalled by the repair-price demands, I pitched the idea of repairing it ourselves. However, every single electronics engineer in the club promptly turned down my suggestion.

It was not until years later that I realized that contrary to what I thought then, they were quite reasonable in doing so. Their cold reception didn’t deter my overenthusiastic self from referring to a number of websites, manuals, and video tutorials on similar circuits, to little avail, except perhaps for noting the fact that the instructors were seldom Indian. With a bruised ego, I soon gave up the pursuit. 

Evaluating the consequences of the anti-China social-media outrage in the wake of a series of border confrontations, alleged encroachments, and diplomatic standoffs, computer engineering vs computer science in on the viability of the non-existent alternatives, I wonder if this futile pursuit will leave us Indians exhausted and with bruised egos.

State defers CET for engineering, pharmacy, architecture

The state common entrance test (CET) cell on Monday announced that entrance exam for admissions to engineering, pharmacy and architecture colleges in Maharashtra has been postponed till further notice. The tests were supposed to be conducted between July and August. In a tweet, state minister for higher and technical education Uday Samant announced that new dates will be announced soon.

“Conducting entrance exams for professional courses is important. Looking at the current situation of Covid-19 in our state, we have decided to push the exam date till further notice,” computer engineering definition.

Close to 5.24 lakh students registered for the entrance exams this year. Earlier this month, around 60,000 applicants had changed their examination centres after CET cell provided the option of picking centres closer to students’ home.

A Day in the Life of a Robotics Engineer

In my freshman year of high school, I went to a Women in Technology camp. We got exposure to a variety of engineering disciplines like Mechanical, Electrical, and Computer Engineering. Then, we got to do robotics! We got to use industrial robots that are used in factories around the world. I fell in love and decided I wanted to be a Robotics Engineer.

I got my Mechanical Engineering degree with the Robotics option at Lake Superior State University in addition to an associate’s degree in Computer Science. I had two internships when I was in college. During both, I got to work with robots, which solidified computer science vs computer engineering career interest. For one internship, I installed two robots and helped debug the system. For the other internship, I worked with the same robot type at a sealant company. I was able to do different lab tests and make videos for buyers. The videos showed different equipment types and capabilities so buyers knew what the products could do for their company.

After I graduated and worked for a couple of years, I got my master’s degree in Integrated Manufacturing Systems Engineering from North Carolina State University. In other words, I studied combined mechanical and electrical systems in a manufacturing environment.

SharkNinja is two companies in one – Shark makes upright and robotic vacuum cleaners with a high-tech twist, while Ninja aims to bring ‘precision engineering’ to the kitchen.  Lots of innovation goes on behind the scenes, how hard is computer science, director of design engineering. 

“I primarily look after design and engineering for the Ninja heated team, where we develop pressure cookers, grills and things like that. It’s a massive part of the business and it’s getting a lot of investment.

“There is a huge amount of innovation behind the scenes. We really strive to have products that benefit the consumer, doing a considerable amount of consumer insight early on. Ninja works with a team of chefs in the US to make sure the technology matches the food that consumers want to create and eat.”

“We also look at products we have sold and see what might not be working to improve them. A big example was with our vacuum cleaners. A particular problem has been hair wrapping around the brush-roll, which is designed to dislodge small particles of dirt from the ground, but we developed anti-hair-wrap technology to prevent that happening. A ‘bristle-guard’ and comb separate and remove all the hair from the bristle brush-roll to make it far easier for the customer.
